harvey nichols edit magazine f/w 08 - balenciaga men

probably two steps too late: my much desired balenciaga egg shaped coat from fall winter 2008 made it to the cover of uber chic departmental store harvey nichols's edit magazine. this season is the first time that harvey nichols stocked balenciaga menswear, and what a way to let the world know by putting the signature piece on the cover.

the egg shaped coat is made from neoprene (scuba diving material?), and retails for GBP2,065. neoprene seems to be all the rage these days: burberry used it to make trench coats for s/s 08, vuitton used it to make bags for cruise 09 and burberry for coats in f/w 08.

the leather trench retails for GBP3,785 which in my humble opinion 99.99% of the male population could not pull it off.

enjoy the weekend, and in the humble words of miss universe "world peace".

  1. Prada did an egg/cocoon coat in wool last year and my SA was really pushing it to me. but it was just too directional for me. i'd rather the leather trench.

  2. dd: yea some SAs can be quite pushy, but i like egg shaped clothes, i can finally not go to the gym and yet look fashionable hehe!

the leather trench is too much for me... i prefer short leather jackets...

    happy weekend!
