looking forward: burberry prorsum men's autumn winter 2009/2010

a sneak peek at a few key looks from burberry prorsum men's autumn winter 2009/2010 collection. they do classic menswear every season in understated tones which reeks of quiet luxury.

the signature house check was used sparingly and in muted shades, to compliment rather than to steal the limelight. i've always been a big fan of fall winter collections, and i am really loving these. these should be in stores from august 2009.

and great casting of model, the classic british pale porcelain skinned lad. not too waif (dior homme?) and not too perma tann muscle beef (DG?).

  4. Burberry is definitely on their A game again! This past season has been so refreshingly sophisticated. And AW09/10 is shaping up to be Burberry at its most refined yet. Can't wait to get paid! Though I guess first I must see if I can refrain from splurging during these coming summer months lol

  6. I like most of it, but I'm not feeling the big collars on the first coat, sorry.

The rest of this I would definitely wear and thats from me a casual-wear-acholic. I do like the odd Burberry item now and again but the staff in some of their stores are the most unhelpful bunch Ive come across. Sorry to be dishing the dirt on your site 00o00 but thats just been my experience in a few of their stores, in the North at least. That said the 09/10 season Burberry is looking like Vinny said "on their A game".

Oh and big news for us northerners Hermes is opening up shop for the second time in Manchester, in the central Selfridges its being set up as we speak people.

  7. love the jeans!

By the way, are Burberry and Burberry Prorsum the same? or different?

  8. Hey Andy,

"Burberry" is the fashion house. Under the umbrella of the luxury brand itself are the collection lines: Burberry Prorsum and Burberry London. To my understanding, Burberry and Burberry Prorsum, more often than not, are usually used in reference to the same thing: the domain of ready-to-wear clothing that comes from the seasonal collections. If I'm not mistaken, Burberry London is related to the sport collections.

Hope that clears things up a bit!

  9. Although I was quite mixed on the runway collection, there are some fantastic individual pieces especially among the coats.

    Better start saving my pennies.

  10. andy/vinny l: the prorsum range is the higher end runway range, more cutting edge. london range is the subsidiary line, slightly more affordable and classic.

the sport line is simply burberry sport

  11. Hum, i love all the things:
1- Clothes, especially in the 4th pics, this is the style that i love. The jeans are just superb.
2- All the bags, especially the bag of the first pics, i really love the way that i can wear my bag with my hand or on my shoulder. And the color of the leather are just perfect to me.

This is really a good collection.

  14. what about the brand Thomas Burberry? It is official?

    ReplyDelete
  15. thomas burberry is targeted at the younger audience, although i believe they are trying to close that down now.

think giorgio armani, emporio armani, armani exchange in terms of burberry prorsum, burberry london and thomas burberry

and then there is burberry sport which is like armani jeans.

and no, i don't work for burberry!

  16. What about some of the older stuff you see it actually tagged as "Burberry's" or "Burberrys", ever noticed?

    ReplyDelete
  17. blakey: those are stuff from the old range, before they had differentiation in prorsum and london lines. vintage burberry if you like.
