alezan/chocolat

i finally got my act together and brought my hermès belt to the shops to have the belt changed. i bought the belt from a parisian auction house back in may, but the belt was too old and doesn't fit me too.

the original belt was a brown togo leather with black box calf on the reverse. i decided against togo, and opted for above "alezan" colored leather, which i can't tell if it's swift or chamonix as written on the receipt. but i thought the taupe/neutral color would go well with the gold colored buckle.

on the reverse, it's a nice warm shade of "chocolat". i love the belt, and the fact that i've given it a new lease of life. the guys at hermès can't determine which year the belt was from (the date code is just a square, with no alphabets), but they reckon it's about 10 years old, and original retail price would be around £800. that kinda shocked me, i didn't expect a belt to be that expensive. and £800 at prices 10 years ago is considered significant.

they say elephants bring luck, here's hoping for twice the luck for me from now on.
