Balenciaga Menswear Spring Summer 2011

my heart just sank, deeply. dear nicolas, please consider bringing barnabé hardy back to design balenciaga menswear. or tell me who is responsible for this, i'll have a word with him/her. we should all be open towards constructive criticism. i really do love the house of balenciaga, that's why i am doing this. thank you.

  1. marcus: exactly. if we make enough noise, they might do something about it. i really want to know who is the menswear designer now. words need to be had.

  2. 00o00f, This really is awful. Although, Balenciaga always has been a bit hit and miss.

And what's with the little boy models? Adds to the dementia.

    I too want Balenciaga back.

  3. I think it's just a terribly wrong rip off of the SS 2007 women collection.

I think I know the name of the designer, I just need further investigations before I can be sure of it. Trust me you'll be the first to know.

  4. there's nothing reminiscent of ss2007. the menswear collection for ss2007 under barnabe hardy was close. i have the long silk/cotton coat which was a reference back to one of the opening looks from womenswear ss07.

    gosh you're well connected babette!

  6. The sad thing is that I don't even really like a single piece except maybe some of the shoes. Even the more simple coats were botched.

  7. Wow. I think I can only say that I like the glasses and that's just about it. The pants are horrid and the coats don't have the usual Balenciaga structure. Dior Homme Fall 2008 comes to mind with the first row.

  8. The stripey black and white prints is more befitting a woman than man! These looks seem to be replicated from the women's collection but cut to fit a man... not right...tsk tsk...

  9. i agree with you guys and disagree a little bit..

i think balenciaga did a big change and change evrything like something new and i hate the shoes coz its simple and boring, love the pants the one with white pants with black prints like a zebra..

  14. Did Bryanboy take over at Balenciaga for men? The clothes aren't horrible but they look like women's clothes retailored for men. Hardly successful, to say the least. Given the negative feedback, it is highly likely that the collection which will hit the store(s) will be radically different!

  16. I'm loving the first 9 looks, the rest it's too much for me. Maybe, if it's on the runway will look better.

  17. I'm digging the clear eyewear, though. I've always wanted to steal a pair of goggles from the Chem Lab back in high school, yeah, for casual wear.

For a moment I thought these were Raf Simons (No Offense!)

  19. i always wish they would make a menswear collection that would compliment their womens collection. i hope they could bring their expertise on womenswear to the meanswear line, including their shoes :)
