Teddyfish Bags

isn't it lovely? simple yet so gorgeous. teddyfish is a new start up based in paris who creates bags which are strong and simple for daily use, and with colors that bring a soft and poetic touch. the bags are made from raw cotton canvas, and hand painted using colored latex to created a unique gradient for each bag.

i find it amazing that they created something so right, so stylish for their debut collection. everything is so artisanal: they design, create and sell all by themselves. i find it even more intriguing that they are still looking for retailers to stock their products. i don't think it will take long then. they are also working on their online shop at the moment. very entrepreneurial.

my favourite is the 3/LTX/TF, a large bag with dual handles, painted in blue and accentuated with a red stud in the middle. absolutely lovely.

don't you just love it when someone sets out to do what they love, with such a clear vision, so compelling that their enthusiasm rubs off on you? even the direction of the lookbook is carefully produced. the vibrant colors reminded me of my 35mm film experimenting days. i used to shoot on slide film and cross processed in normal film chemicals (c41) to achieve those wildly exciting cinematic effects. but they told me it was all digital. i need to go for photoshop lessons!

besides the larger model, they also produce the 2/LTX/TF which is more vertical. don't they just get the gradient so right? the bags reminded me slightly of the ones from ysl raspail totes where they dipped it in paint to achieve a gradient effect, but i believed those were printed, whereas these are really artisanal, each piece really is different.

really love their vision, their effort, their quest to being a little summer to our world. click here to find out more about their bags.

now i really want one of th00o00se!

  1. Those bags would be perfect with the Petar Petrow AW 09 gradient trousers Olivier Theyskens is wearing in this pic: http://jakandjil.com/blog/?p=2497
