Versace Spring Summer 2011

look away now if the psychedelic knitwear is making you dizzy! i spotted the above knitwear at the showroom and can't help wanting a closer look. it's one of the key pieces from versace's spring summer 2011 collection, and i bet it will get loads of editorial features in magazines in the coming months. i love the way it was styled on the runway with the similarly psychedelic shirt, but can't help wonder if the print appeared similar to another italian fashion house's spring 2010 collection.

(cough prada cough).

but nonetheless, loving the very 3-dimensional knitwear.

another of my favourite piece from the collection, is the similarly psychedelic structured jacket. from far, it appeared to be printed fabric. but the beauty of the jacket can be further appreciated by an up close look: the jacket is actually made from thousands and thousands of square beads. terribly time consuming, and totally amazed at how the pattern was maintained.

a close up of the structured jacket.

looking forward to seeing more pieces from versace spring summer 2011.

  1. Great patterns! This season it's all about weird patterns and textures, all distorced and confused as I suposed many people's mind should be right now!

  2. The craftsmanship in that jacket is superb. I'm baffled by how clear the print remained

  4. What happen to Versace? Why it's suddenly becoming this chic? Is it because Christopher Kane, but I though he only design for Versus...
