Nacho Figueras and the Ralph Lauren Stirrup timepiece at Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

isn't he a picture of perfection? nacho figueras, the argentinian polo player who many considered to be the "david beckham of polo" attended the annual veuve clicquot polo event in new york on sunday. an ambassador for ralph lauren, i have no doubts that he was dressed by the house of ralph lauren for the event. i'm not usually a big fan of chains, necklaces or bracelets, but i am seriously loving that hint of red necklace, coupled with a dash of yellow on his right wrist.

and utterly lusting that ralph lauren stirrup timepiece on his right wrist. that really is one of my dream watches. i really want 00o00ne of those.

lest you think it's a fashion watch: the gorgeous timepiece is one of a few pieces from the prestigious ralph lauren watches collection. i believe mr. figueras wore the large rose gold stirrup model. designed in house by ralph lauren and movement by swiss watchmakers jaeger le-coultre, this is one serious heirloom worthy piece. the watch face resembles the D-ring, which one steps on to mount the horses. perfect for the gorgeous polo player then.

honestly, one of the few watches that i really really love. one day, one day.

and much as i would like to say that's my hand above, it isn't. which researching on the watch, i found this pic of a very lucky guy, who documented his visit to view the entire ralph lauren watches collection. a really stunning piece, i l00o00ve.

gorgeous watch, gorgeous man. a perfect union.

  1. I think the non chrono steel version is around £3K , I had a chat with the RL guy at the Bond Street store about a month ago. Although these pieces will not likely to retain value (as it is more of a fashion watch like Chanel). I really like the Slim Classique, however I am not willing to pay around 11k for his platinum version (with blue hands) - I might hunt for a 2nd one in a few yrs time

  2. phil: 3k seems a little light, but it's steel. i remembered the one i like in rose gold is in 5 figs region.

out of interest: do you know who does the movement for chanel watches?

  4. Not too sure about Chanel. I know they have their own in house movements now, but if they are being sneaky, I will expect them to use some sort of ETA movement.

I have a Rose gold panerai, to be honest with you is not very versatile. Maybe until when I get a bit older, I will stick to steel or platinum for now
