boxing day, went out for a little walk in my alexander mcqueen blazer, john varvatos t-shirt, banana republic striped cashmere scarf, diesel black gold distressed jeans, common projects sneakers and smelling of marc jacobs basil sorbet splash.

would have lied if i said i did not pick up anything from the boxing day sales. been eyeing this oversized balmain homme striped cotton pullover for a long time, glad i managed to find one in my size.

the striped pullover also came with several "hand made treatments", a used and distressed feel that ex balmain creative director christophe decarnin loves. however current designer olivier rousteing wanted to move away from that per a recent interview.
well, i no longer have to worry about moths eating my clothes anymore.

taking a break...

liked the shoes.surely gonna get one for me..
ReplyDeleteThat blazer is magnificent.
ReplyDeleteI love that Balmain look. Debating whether to get the oversized shearling now that it's on sale. What do you think?
ReplyDeletethanks guys!
ReplyDeleteanon: definitely go for the shearling, that's my favourite showpiece!
Great look, great jacket...well done as usual.
ReplyDeleteEven if i wasn't a big fan of Balmain Homme by Decarnin (because of the prices and sometimes, the lack of design), i have to say that what Rousteing is doing right now is just beyond tacky!
I used to like the Balmain look because it was really appealing to everybody.
I Hate what he's doing right now.
agree with you loic. the styling on SS2012 looks so tacky, am hoping pieces in real life look better.
ReplyDeleteI have the same blue/white striped Balmain top (size small) but I haven't found a way to make it work yet. I think it's mostly the length that's bothering me, although I know it's intended to be long. Letting it hang down, it kind of looks like a short dress on me (I'm 5'9"/1,75m), but letting it sit on my hips slightly bunched up or tucked in at the front also doesn't really seem like a good look. How do you wear this Joe?
ReplyDeletei get what you mean about the oversized issue. i tucked in a little bit on the front and let it be messy, bit like how i wear it above really.
ReplyDeletei bought the medium, i'm 6'...
I really like those Common Projects, simple but totally classic.
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm looking to buy the balmain top in small, but can you tell me what chest size you are as you have a medium. I'm a 35" chest and 5'11" in height, and worried small will be too big.
