meryl streep and jean dujardin are the newly crowned best actress and actor at this years academy awards. another big winner has to be the house of lanvin, who happened to dress both oscar winners. jean dujardin, who won the oscar for best actor for his role in "the artist", wore a 3 piece bespoke tuxedo in black wool and silk and a white cotton tuxedo shirt all custom made in the lanvin paris atelier. both meryl and jean looked absolutely stunning, great great styling.

jean dujardin also accessorised with the really beautiful jaeger lecoultre memovox tribute to deep sea watch. i remembered reading about this watch in a magazine a few months back. the watch is a re-edition of the world’s first diver’s watch equipped with an alarm function. the iconic timepiece was reissued in a limited edition of 959 pieces. despite the watch being sportier than your usual black tie choices, i really love it. it gave him that edge, short of wearing lanvin sneakers on the red carpet.

  1. It has been pointed out on specialised formalwear blogs that the raise of the shirt collar is too low, and I would point out that if it used to be considered gauche to wear a watch with a dinner suit, it may now be acceptable, but certainly not this sporty type, it should be silver, flat, discreet and the bracelet a simple black strap. James Bond is so cool but sets bad examples
