Maison Martin Margiela for H&M

It is announced today that the next designer collaboration for H&M will be with the House of Martin Margiela, available from 15th November 2012. Any thoughts? I am keeping an open mind, I think this could be good. I hope furniture will be included as I really like Margiela's clean stark white creations. Yes please!

  1. Ha.. I just tweeted at the same time as you.

I'm pretty excited, and hope that there are new elements rather than reimagined pieces.

  2. Now if somebody would just tell me what Maison Martin Margiela supposed to represent right now, I mean it doesn't even have a particular aesthetic or signature items (maybe jewellery and trainers aside)

  3. Well they have a lot of signature items. Both for men and women.

The 5 zip leather jacket, the tabi boots, the trucker knit, the work on white color, play whith shapes, deconstruction, and of course the tailoring (still one of the best in the fashion industry IMO).

Problem is, all of this was Martin's ideas and designs. MMM now is just a reminiscence of its glorious past.

About the HM collab, I'm not sure what to think...
