It is the weekend edition of "00O00h!", so I will be blogging about furniture and furnishings, the thought process and hopefully eventual outcome of what's actually happening to my new flat. I am still living out of the boxes, and for the past two days at the London Menswear Collections, I was actually more keen on the interior designs of the show locations. Yes nice jackets and shoes, but hot furniture really floats my boat now!
St Martins Lane hotel in London very kindly provided a bloggers library for us to rest our weary feet in between shows, charge up our batteries and provided all manners of refreshments which I thought was a brilliant idea. Coming through the main entrance, I saw the above golden stools made to look like tooth, along with flat brown couches (made to look like biscuits?). There's definitely a wow and fun factor to it, which makes me appreciate Starck's furniture even more.
In another corner, there's this Victorian style lounger with foot rest and a matching side table. I was told the entire lobby was designed and furnished by Philippe Starck, so this chair must be no exception. I really love the lounger, the mix of the antique style with the newly upholstered fabric. In my mind, I want my lounge to have a very modern dining table, and an old style couch to contrast it with. May not be the above piece, but I love seeing things like that which just runs lots of ideas though my head.
Drop by St Martins Lane hotel in London for a look. I love the quirky designs.

The golden chairs and the table left me speechless.
ReplyDeleteThe side table is an Eames stool designed by Charles & Ray Eames in 1960 and now sold by Vitra. Love it and it's on my wish list! Here's a link to a British site selling this - http://www.nest.co.uk/search/vitra-eames-stool-model-b
