When I was in Copenhagen last week, I had great pleasure in staying at the Bella Sky Comwell Hotel. The modernist architecture easily stood out amongst the rest of the buildings within the Ørestaden neighbourhood. With 820 rooms spread across two towers, Bella Sky is the biggest hotel in Northern Europe. Situated right next to Bella Centre, home to the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF), the location couldn't be more ideal for me.
I really love the classic Danish furniture sprinkled across the hotel lobby. Honouring Danish architect and designer Finn Juhl, several of his furniture pieces can be seen across the hotel, including the "Poet" sofa and the "Pelican" armchairs. Those are the ultimate dream furniture for my flat.
In a nod to great designs, the hotel also featured great British classics, such as the Tom Dixon "Slab" table and benches in their breakfast area.
On the 23rd floor lies the Bella Sky Bar. A great lounge which offered amazing views of the city. The Sky Bar also featured several cocoon wicker chairs by Nanna and Jorgen Ditzel, originally designed in 1959. And I knew that as I chanced upon the chair at the Design Museum in Copenhagen.
I wished I could smuggle the "Pelican" home with me. Great design classics featured throughout the hotel, love love love. You can find out more about the hotel at http://www.bellaskycomwell.dk.

I like the green and the blue one. It has nice designs aside from the fact that I love those colors.
ReplyDeleteLoving these pics, they are indeed great designs. Though I'm not really into the whole "it" bag craze, I did cave and get the new Proenza Schouler Forest Green textured leather PS11, you can see it on my blog, but anyway yeah these pics are great and personal, I like that.
