Michael Phelps and former Soviet gymnast Larisa Latynina star in Louis Vuitton's latest Core Values campaign

00O00 London Menswear Blog Michael Phelps and former Soviet gymnast Larisa Latynina star in Louis Vuitton's latest Core Values campaign
He is said to be the most decorated Olympian of all times. American swimmer Michael Phelps, who recently competed in the London 2012 Olympic games, achieved 22 Olympic medals throughout his career, 18 of them gold. It is of great timing that Louis Vuitton released their latest Core Values campaign, starring Mr Phelps and Larisa Latynina, a former Soviet gymnast. I've always loved their Core Values campaigns as Vuitton sets out to celebrate the great achievements of the subjects. Lensed by Annie Leibovitz, this campaign is a close favourite of mine, up there with the one starring the US astronauts.

The interesting thing is that Larisa Latynina previously held the record with 18 Olympic medals to her title. The record was unbeaten for 48 years, until Phelps came along and smashed it with his haul of 22 medals. Amazing story and pairing of the two.

Love the campaign, do you?

  3. I've always loved Louis Vuitton. I feel like they do an excellent job of highlighting the history of the label while simultaneously bringing a fresh perspective to their brand and giving a nod to the value of hard work in their choice of campaign subjects and brand ambassadors. I always look forward to what they'll do next on and off the runway.
