Yesterday was day one of the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships, which means summer is finally and truly here. A great time for us to introduce Renshaw, a new scent from Murdock London, the capital's premiere barbers and gentlemen's grooming specialist.
We met Brendan Murdock, founder of Murdock London, at Brown's Hotel at Albemarle Street in London last week. With Renshaw, Brendan and the team at Murdock London wanted to honour the great British traditions of tennis and croquet, the sporting games of the well manicured lawn. The name of their new scent was in homage to the Renshaw brothers, who dominated at Wimbledon in the 1880s.
The scent is very fresh. Think freshly cut grass, mowed lawns, with a subtle hint of cooling watercress. I really like it, a light summer scent which is perfect for now.
Top notes: Ruby red grapefruit and Sicilian Bergamot. Mid notes: Violet, Gardenia, Lily of the Valley, Strawberry, Jasmin Blossom, green pepper corn, watercress. Base notes: Musk, white woods.

I must admit, I hear a lot about Fred Perry, Tim Henman and Andy Murray in recent tennis history, but not the Renshaw brothers. It is great to be introduced to this new scent, and to have a little history lesson as well. The Renshaw brothers are William and Ernest, who dominated at Wimbledon in the 1880's. William won the Mens Singles 7 times, including 3 times against Ernest between 1881-1889. Ernest Renshaw also won the Wimbledon title in 1888.

Speaking of Wimbledon: That was the scene yesterday at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club at Wimbledon. Now, anyone has any hospitality tickets? No harm and no shame in asking, as they say 'you don't ask, you don't get'!
