Hugh Jackman / Justjared
Hugh Jackman was pictured in New York City on 14th November 2014. Fun and fruitful shopping day it seems, Hugh Jackman was pictured with his hands full of bags, with a black Montblanc Extreme Leather backpack / rucksack slung on his back.
I recognised his backpack instantly as I remembered seeing it during my factory visit to Montblanc's facilities in Florence during the summer. Building a bridge between craftsmanship and innovation, the Montblanc Extreme Leather collection blends leather manufacturing processes in use since 1926 when they opened their first leather workshop in Germany, and new techniques pioneered at the Montblanc Pelleteria in Florence, Italy. A unique dressing and finishing technique uses cutting-edge technology to provide every piece with additional protection against the elements.
Here are some pictures I took during the factory tour in Florence:
I don't know what to call this machine, but during the stress testing phase, bags from the Montblanc Extreme Leather range were thrown and swung and bashed within the facility to ensure its durability. Amazingly, the bags kept their shape with no visible signs of distress. You may say that is amazing PR talk, but I witnessed it with my own eyes. #Amazeballs
Using modern innovation, calf leather is bonded with their secret techniques to make it Extreme. I asked what it was, but they would have to kill me. I reckon it is not worth dying for the blog, so please forgive me.
Pictured above are a piece of bonded calf leather from the Montblanc Extreme Leather range, with a piece of normal polished calf leather. Water was sprinkled onto both pieces of leather, but no watermarks were left / visible on the Extreme leather.
Besides stress and water resistance testing, we also saw them putting a lighter against the Extreme leather. You guessed it, it did not catch fire nor leave visible marks. Hence the name of their new leather range, Extreme. Even Wolverine's claws would not scratch the leather, oh wait I made that up, but I am pretty certain it would not.

Besides the backpack as seen on Hugh Jackman, the Montblanc Extreme Leather range also includes small accessories, like the travel wallets pictured above, with my trusty notebook and Montblanc Meisterstück 90 Years red gold plated fountain pen.
With the excellent properties, I thought the range would be perfect for travelling. Or for a regular day in London against the elements really. A uniquely masculine and durable range for the gentlemen out there. Don't just take my word for it, you can see it for yourself at a Montblanc shop near you.
